Job Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, a Kitchen Manager is responsible for scheduling, planning, organizing, directing and controlling the day-to-day kitchen operations. You will effectively execute day-to-day operations of the business unit including training, developing mentoring, counseling, and leading a diverse group of team members with a goal of maximizing sales and profitability, controlling labor expenses, and ensuring safety, sanitation, and maintaining food standards.

Shifts: Days, Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays.

Responsibilities:

· Lead a team of 5-15 kitchen staff providing guidance and encouragement and foster a fun and safe atmosphere for all staff;

· Lead by example by maintaining a professional, positive, and friendly attitude through affective communication;

· Effectively schedule department and control operating labour to conform with business demands and targeted labour costs;

· Comply with, and champion, all Company policies and procedures, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid, WHMIS, ACGO Regulations, Safe Food handling and sanitation Regulations and Recycling Programs;

· Maintain targeted food costs by preventing waste, ensure compliance with current cost control measures, efficiently forecast sales, and develop strategies to optimize control;

· Unload, breakdown, and stock supply and product deliveries, ensuring product rotation for freshness following First in First Out guidelines;

· Know the job requirements and assist in all areas of the kitchen to provide guidance and support where needed, including but not limited to, line cook, prep cook, Expo, and dish;

· Ensure high food quality, appearance and presentation standards for the restaurant are consistently achieved;

· Manage vendor relationships to ensure consistency in quality and cost;

· Collaborate with Food and Beverage Manager to develop menu; and

· Perform other duties as assigned by Management and/or Niagara Clifton Group operations.

● Available to work varied schedules (days, afternoons, evening, weekends, and holidays) to support the business unit’s hours of operation.

● Physically able to perform light-medium duties including lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and bending; and

● Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Qualifications:

● 2+ years of comparable kitchen supervisory or management experience directing work, training, and educating team members required;

● Hospitality management education an asset;

● Food handling certificate required; and

● First Aid Certification an asset.

Salary: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
